Is it ok to put Esquire on a wedding invitation?
October 29, 2009
Can you include esquire at the end of your name on a wedding invitation? Some etiquette book says no, others say its fine. My fiance is a lawyer and we’re not sure if it should be on the invitation.
i say no, it is not appropriate. when referring to the bride and groom names are used, not titles or jobs. even if your husband is a JD the title Dr. should not be used when referring to either the bride or groom. if parents names are used in the invitation it would be appropriate to use a title (Mr., Mrs., Dr.)
think about it this way, if he was a master plumber, would you write that on the invitation?
