Where can I find Wedding Stationery?

October 1, 2009

Anyone have any ideas as to where I could find some reasonably priced contemporary black and white wedding invitations?
I’ve only just started looking and it’s a bit mind boggling!!
Thanks.
I should probably add I’m in the UK.

try confetti.co.uk and celebrationplus.co.uk, they have a good range of wedding stationery you could probably request the colour that you want. Dont laugh but try ebay too, I got mine from there and the person would bend over backwards to get the right colours and card texture for me, down to the colour of the writing!

Im based in the UK too btw. Hope it helps. x

Casual Wedding Invitations?

September 29, 2009

Though are wedding is formal, we really REALLY don’t like most of the formal invitations. The style really just doesn’t suit our personality. We are trying to find some reasonably priced contemporary and informal-ish invites.

Do you know any good sites?

Here are some examples of ones that we like for this style so far:

http://www.now-and-forever.com/We_ViewEns.cfm?sItemCode=WedEns4044&sCatalogCode=WedEnsNF&iStartRow=91&lCriteria=4707&strcontinue=yes&strsearch=yes&format=WedEnsNFa

http://www.annsbridalbargains.com/We_ViewEns.cfm?sItemCode=WedEns5351&sCatalogCode=WedEnsVA&iStartRow=1&strcontinue=yes&strsearch=yes&format=WedEnsVAa

the last one is perfect!

Wedding invitations with 2 envelopes okay? Tradition calls for 3.?

September 29, 2009

Do environmental considerations get taken into account in contemporary wedding planners’ assembly of wedding invitations? I love doing traditional things like this but I’m really environmentally offended by the unnecessity of the 2nd envelope (to house the invite). I think the outer envelope, invite card, RSVP card and stamped envelope are plenty. But it’s being called uncouth. Anybody who cares about the environment and about making things look good care to comment?

These days it’s perfectly fine! People are getting both more creative and more earth-friendly with their weddings and I’m sure no one will turn up any noses or be offended in the least by having only 2 envelopes! In fact, my invitations had NO envelopes, I got the fold and seal style with an attached post card style RSVP card and I got loads of compliments from my friends and family who thought they were stylish and adorable!
They even make wedding invitations that are made from recycled paper. I believe www.invitationsbydawn.com carries a selection of them and http://www.custompaper.com/invitations.html makes beautiful, handmade, earth-friendly invitations all occasions, including weddings.
Also, for fun, here’s a neat article I read that you find interesting about a couple who did their whole wedding earth-friendly: http://www.businessweek.com/smallbiz/content/nov2006/sb20061107_605364.htm?campaign_id=bier_smv.g3a.rssd1109h
Hope this helps! Good luck with your wedding planning and congratulations!!

Contemporary cute (hunting theme) wedding invitations?

September 14, 2009

My fiance likes to hunt and I like contemporary type of things- i am having a really hard time finding wedding invitations we both like – any suggestions?
I have searched on the net and there is nothing that fits us both.. thanks!

i would go for the contemporary theme and leave the hunting out of it…. unless you can design and make something yourself i can’t imagine you’ll find many hunting themed wedding invitations, hunting’s main themes are killing, shooting, and death… not things most people want to show their guests regarding their wedding. maybe you can use contemporary design and green and brown colors (camoflauge).

Modern Wedding Invitation: Get Creative and Tasteful

September 5, 2008

There are countless of types of wedding invitations, and you can choose to use whichever you like the most. What matters most is that the wedding invitation stands out from the rest of wedding cards that people have been receiving over the years. It may sound difficult because we are used to a certain theme that every wedding invitation always seems to come in, but there are many other themes as well.

Now a day there is something called modern wedding invitations. These cards are quite contemporary since they don’t implement the old fashion type of thinking. However, they still have the special feeling every perfect wedding invitation has.

Classy but Edgy

They feature the classic colors wedding invitations have had, but it a more sassy manner. No more boring wording either; creative wording for wedding invitations is very important for modern wedding invitations. They generally feature a verse or sentence at the beginning of the card.

This small sentence could either be in rhyme or not. Sometimes it talks about the wedding ceremony theme and sometimes it says something funny about the couple getting married. I personally prefer using a little bit of comedy when thinking of the verse because a god laugh is always welcomed.

A Picture is Worth 1000 Words

This is something that old fashioned wedding invitations don’t have; a picture of the couple. As the old proverb goes, a picture really is worth more than 1000 words. So if you include a photo of you and your partner somewhere in your wedding invitation, you just might be able to transmit to your guests the love and emotion you want to.

Be careful however, I have seen really tasteless invitations that have a tacky picture of the couple getting married. That is why I recommend that you ask a professional wedding photographer or someone you can trust to take the picture.

I need advice on wedding invitations….?

July 30, 2008

I am pretty artsy w/ a splash of hippy. :) I want my invitations to be simple, elegant, and edgy/contemporary. My colors are dark, earthy (almost olive) green w/ dark gold. Any suggestions? OH, and I'm working w/ a really tight budget. Any known websites would help tremendously! THANKS!

You could make your own. Have you ever heard of Stampin' Up? I have had a couple of brides that used materials from them to make their own invites. They turned out beautiful.

where to find modern wedding invitations?

July 28, 2008

hey!
I'm looking for modern/contemporary wedding inviations in green and white. Does anyone know any good websites to take a look at?
thanks!

I know walmart has some white ones, which I just bought and are very classy. They come with a webpage to go to that includes a template for you to print on your invitations with. It is perfect! You can always put the white invitation in a green envelope, or change the writing to your color green. It sounds lame, but worth a try.

Maybe even try theknot.com and go to their invitation section, or even ebay.com may have some.

Good luck!!!
