Where does the zip code go when addressing formal wedding invitations?
October 31, 2009
I am putting together my addresses to be sent to the calligrapher. Do you put the zip code after the city & state on the same line–or do you put the zip code on a line below the city & state? I have seen it both ways. Which is correct? Also, do you spell out the word "apartment" or do you do "#1A"? I keep trying to research this and keep getting different answers. I know this sounds stupid, but I have some very particular relatives that will be sure to call me and let me know that I did it wrong! Thanks for your help.
You put the zip code on the same line as the city and state. You can do either way for apartment. Or you can put Apt 1a instead. Most people don’t write out the whole word apartment.
example:
Jane Doe
123 45th Street Apt 1A
City, State 12345
Good Luck!!

How to Address Wedding Invitations with Mail Merge?
October 31, 2009
If I have entered your guest information into Access Database or Excel, how do I do a mail merge to print addresses onto invitations.
UPDATE!!!!!!!!!
This is for Word 2003, it should be pretty similar if you’re using 2007.
1. Click Tools, then go down to Letters and Mailings, then click Mail Merge.
2. Click the type of document you are working on (letters, envelopes) on box that appears on the right side and click Next: Starting document at the bottom
3. Click what document you are going to use (the current one, one you already made, or a template) and click next at the bottom.
4. Select the "Use from an existing list" button and click browse in the area below it. Find the file that you have the information stored and say open.
5. Choose the recipients by putting checks next to them. Click OK. Click next on the bottom left.
6. Write the letter if you are using a regular document.
7. Once you’re done with that, click more items on the right side. Click the database fields button, and fields from the file that you created to put your guest information in should appear.
8. Double click each one as you would want it to appear like it was a persons name. For example:
<<FirstName>><<LastName>> would show JohnDoe without any spaces.
<<FirstName>> <<LastName>> would show John Doe with a space.
Be careful when you’re doing address stuff. Click next.
9. You’ll be able to preview it so you can see how it looks. Click the arrows at the top of the left to see everyones name. Once you’re ready, click next to complete the merge.
10. You can either print the merge, or edit them individually.

And when you are inviting the entire family…is it proper to say The Smith family.

Is it okay to use address labels on wedding invitations?
October 29, 2009
My fiance is insisting that we use address labels on the wedding invitations. My best friend says it is bad etiquette. What should I do?
Proper Etiquette is for the invitation envelopes to be hand-addressed. Your Address(Sender) goes centered on the back of the envelope at the top. The Recipents address goes on the front in the right corner section just under the center of the envelope. This is where you can enlist help from your Maid of honor and your Bridesmaids. Or you can have someone professionally do them. Look for Calligraphers in your area if that is the choice you make.

Is it ok to put Esquire on a wedding invitation?
October 29, 2009
Can you include esquire at the end of your name on a wedding invitation? Some etiquette book says no, others say its fine. My fiance is a lawyer and we’re not sure if it should be on the invitation.
i say no, it is not appropriate. when referring to the bride and groom names are used, not titles or jobs. even if your husband is a JD the title Dr. should not be used when referring to either the bride or groom. if parents names are used in the invitation it would be appropriate to use a title (Mr., Mrs., Dr.)
think about it this way, if he was a master plumber, would you write that on the invitation?
.
should i buy a special pen to address my wedding invitations?
October 27, 2009
my mother is about to do them and thinks any old pen is fine but i don’t know.
I think that it isn’t nessary to buy a new pen. But a really good pen to use would be a fountain pen, so if you don’t have one of those, then I would go out and buy one
I will get married and my wife is doing problem on my wedding invitation card. what should I do ?
